Singapore offers many advantages and opportunities not only for doing business there but also doing business in the wider Asia Pacific region and elsewhere.
It is therefore unsurprising that Singapore is host to around 4,000 tech startups, 400 venture capital firms and 200 incubators/accelerators.
But why is this the case? One big reason is that Singapore, via its various government agencies offers accreditation to start ups which can be leveraged upon for expansion overseas.
For example, since Infocomm Media Development Authority launched its accreditation programme in 2014 and its Spark programme for early stage startups in 2018, more than 180 companies have benefited from them, winning more than 2,800 projects in government and enterprise sectors as at March 2023.
